I had to hire many family members who worked for next to nothing when I first started but now they all know that it was worth it. I have more than tripled their salaries and they all get end of the year bonuses based on the sales for the year.

I know that many of them did not think that my website development company would be able to make it when the economy took a big hit but we just buckled down, watched our spending and concentrated on making custom web design sites for everyone who was braving the storm with us.

When we got through the first two years that seemed to be the toughest and there was light at the end of the tunnel, we bought a new building that looked more professional than the one we had originally started out in. I think that this has helped us grow as well. When your clients come to your office, they want to see that you are doing well and that was not always the case at our old building because if it was raining, then the roof was leaking.
