Ins and Outs of Power Washing
Home and Garden June 24th, 2008Several different types of power washing nozzles are available, each useful for a certain application. Some nozzles cause the water spray to be ejected in a fan pattern, while others produce a pencil like stream of water. The nozzles attach directly to the end of the spray wand.
Some power washing units, in conjunction with a soap nozzle, allow detergent or chemicals to be injected into the water stream, supporting in the exterior cleaning process. Normally two types of chemical injectors are used, a low-pressure injector and a high pressure washing injector.
Power washers are dangerous tools when not used correctly or in the hands of an inexperienced operator. The water pressure at the end of the nozzle is strong enough to cut flesh. Debris in the water supply can be propelled from the nozzle at great velocities. The cleaning process can also eject objects from the surface being cleaned. Always wear the proper personal protection especially safety glasses.
